Sukhmani Sahib is a revered composition within the Sikh faith. It is a lengthy prayer, written by Guru Arjan Dev, the fifth Sikh Guru, and appears in the Guru Granth Sahib in the raga Gauri Sukhmani.

Spanning 35 pages, from page 262 to page 296 of the Guru Granth Sahib, this sacred text holds great significance for many devoted Sikhs. In fact, it is included in their daily regimen of Nitnem.

The composition of Sukhmani Sahib took place at a physical site near Amritsar's Ramsar pool, marked today on the bank of the pool. The area was once densely wooded and had been visited by the Guru around AD 1602-03. Amritsar itself is home to the renowned Golden Temple, also known as the Harmandir Sahib.
